| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard S. "Dick" Schofield of Rockford, | | 4 | | who passed away on March 26, 2014; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Schofield was born on May 22, 1922 in | | 6 | | Freeport; his parents were Ralph and Ruth (nee Stewart) | | 7 | | Schofield; he married Arlene P. Opel on August 6, 1943 in | | 8 | | Neosho, Missouri; he and his wife recently celebrated their | | 9 | | 70th anniversary; and
| | 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Schofield served his country as a member | | 11 | | of the United States Army Signal Corps in the South Pacific | | 12 | | theatre during World War II; and
| | 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Schofield was employed by Illinois Bell | | 14 | | Telephone for 36 years until his retirement as a supervisor in | | 15 | | 1982; and
| | 16 | | WHEREAS, Richard Schofield was a member of Our Savior's | | 17 | | Lutheran Church; and
| | 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Schofield is survived by his wife, Arlene; | | 19 | | daughters, Ruth (Barry) Hough, Carol (Richard) Wray, and Mary | | 20 | | (Jerry) Suhr; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Karlen, Brian |
