SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Jacksonville Developmental Center Reopening Act. Requires the Governor to develop a plan to reopen the Jacksonville Developmental Center, to be submitted to the General Assembly by January 1, 2016. Requires the Jacksonville Developmental Center to reopen within 5 years after the effective date of this Act according to the plan developed by the Governor. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Jacksonville Developmental Center Reopening Act.

Section 5. Reopening of the Jacksonville Developmental Center.

(a) The Governor shall develop a plan to reopen the Jacksonville Developmental Center. This plan shall be submitted to the General Assembly by January 1, 2016.

(b) Within 5 years after the effective date of this Act, the Jacksonville Developmental Center shall reopen according to the plan developed by the Governor under subsection (a) of this Section.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
