SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 10/15 new

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that the General Assembly may create a task force only by law, and not by resolution or joint resolution, if the task force may have a member who is not a member of the General Assembly and would require the expenditure of State funds to accomplish its purpose.

AN ACT concerning the legislature.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended by adding Section 15 as follows:

(25 ILCS 10/15 new)

Sec. 15. Task forces; create by law.

(a) "Task force" means a group of individuals (i) that may include as a member an individual who is not a member of the General Assembly and (ii) for which State funds would need to be expended to accomplish its purpose.

(b) The General Assembly may create a task force only by law and not by resolution or joint resolution.
