SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

730 ILCS 166/40 new

Amends the Drug Court Treatment Act. Provides that the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts shall conduct education seminars for judges throughout the State on how to operate drug court programs with a specific emphasis on cases involving the illegal possession of methamphetamine. Effective July 1, 2005.

AN ACT concerning drug courts.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Drug Court Treatment Act is amended by adding Section 40 as follows:

(730 ILCS 166/40 new)

Sec. 40. Education seminars for judges. The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts shall conduct education seminars for judges throughout the State on how to operate drug court programs with a specific emphasis on cases involving the illegal possession of methamphetamine.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on July 1, 2005.
