SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

55 ILCS 5/3-5042 rep.
55 ILCS 5/3-5043 rep.
55 ILCS 5/3-5044 rep.

Amends the Counties Code. Repeals certain Sections of the Code that require a recorder to make and certify abstracts of title to real estate and to charge a fee for certifying abstracts of title and to make tax and judgment searches and charge a fee for those searches. Repeals a Section of the Code that requires the recorder to give bond in connection with abstracts of title. Effective immediately.

Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by repealing Sections 3-5039, 3-5040, 3-5041, 3-5042, 3-5043, and 3-5044.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
