AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 247

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 247 as follows:

on page 1, by replacing line 5 with the following: "4-10001 and by adding Section 4-9002 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/4-9002 new)

Sec. 4-9002. Cook County board members; change compensation. Notwithstanding any provision of this Act to the contrary, on and after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly and until November 30, 2011, the county board of Cook County may select to change the manner of compensation of all county board members and the Chairman of the board for the purpose of reducing compensation or returning to a per diem method of compensation."; and

on page 2, line 6, by replacing "Rock Island County" with "any county".
