AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2549

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2549 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section 85-65 as follows:

(60 ILCS 1/85-65 new)

Sec. 85-65. Animal control. If a county has not exercised its authority under the Animal Control Act in unincorporated areas of the county where a township is located, the township board may request the assistance of the county sheriff when one or more complaints are received by the township in regard to potential violations of the Animal Control Act. The sheriff and all sheriff's deputies shall cooperate with the township board's request.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
