SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
15 ILCS 310/10b.18  from Ch. 124, par. 110b.18

    Amends the Secretary of State Merit Employment Code. Grants veteran employees 4 (rather than 2) days per year to visit a veterans hospital for examination of a military service connected disability. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Secretary of State Merit Employment Code is
5amended by changing Section 10b.18 as follows:
 
6    (15 ILCS 310/10b.18)  (from Ch. 124, par. 110b.18)
7    Sec. 10b.18. Veterans hospital visits. An employee who is
8also a veteran shall be permitted 4 2 days per year to visit a
9veterans hospital for examination of a military service
10connected disability. The 4 2 days shall not be charged against
11any sick leave currently available to the employee.

13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
