| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Nancy C. Runkel of | 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on June 3, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Runkel was born in Chicago on November 15, | 6 | | 1930, to Louis and Gertrude Sunde Due; she married Charles E. | 7 | | Runkel on July 18, 1953, in Jacksonville; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Runkel was a 1949 graduate of Jacksonville | 9 | | High School and attended Hardin-Brown Business College; she and | 10 | | her mother owned and operated Newell's Clothing Store on the | 11 | | square in Jacksonville for over 25 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Runkel was a member of Grace United | 13 | | Methodist Church and was an active member of the Jacksonville | 14 | | Area Chamber of Commerce; she was a member of the Hospitaller | 15 | | Commandery #31 Ladies Auxiliary, the Jacksonville Symphony | 16 | | Chorale, and was a volunteer at the State Police Museum in | 17 | | Springfield; she was an avid bowler, loved music, and was proud | 18 | | of her Norwegian heritage; she and her husband Charles traveled | 19 | | extensively throughout the U.S.; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Runkel was preceded in death by her husband, | 21 | | Charles Runkel and her brother, Charles Due; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Runkel is survived by her children, Gerhardt | 2 | | (Pamela) Runkel, Chris (Stephen) Shafer, and Eric (Rhonda Wood) | 3 | | Runkel; her 6 grandchildren; her 7 great-grandchildren; and her | 4 | | brother, Don Due; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Nancy Runkel, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Nancy Runkel as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
