| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas Joseph Barschak of O'Fallon, who | 4 | | passed away on January 15, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was born on January 30, 1928 in | 6 | | St. Louis, Missouri; his parents were Thomas Emil and Marie C. | 7 | | (nee Polk) Barschak; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak proudly served his country in the | 9 | | United States Army during the Korean War; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was a purchaser at Southern | 11 | | Illinois University in Edwardsville; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was a member of Masonic East Lodge | 13 | | 504; the Scottish Rite Bodies, where he was a past Sovereign | 14 | | Prince, a past member of the board of directors, MSA, and 33rd | 15 | | Degree; the Ainad Shrine Temple, where he was a past member of | 16 | | the executive committee and past Potentate; the Demolay Legion | 17 | | of Honor, Egyptian Preceptory; the Royal Order of Jesters Court | 18 | | 86; a member of the Belleville, Silver Lake, Collinsville, and | 19 | | Tri-City Shrine Clubs; and a past member of the Edwardsville | 20 | | Planning Commission; he also served at Anderson Hospital in | 21 | | Maryville as a trustee, assistant treasurer, and member of the |

| 1 | | executive committee, building committee, and special insurance | 2 | | committee; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Barschak is survived by his daughter, Bunny | 6 | | (Mark) VonBokel; his son, Dale (Kris) Barschak; his | 7 | | grandchildren, Logan VonBokel, Bret Barschak, and Laine | 8 | | Barschak; and his close friend, Shirley Walters; therefore, be | 9 | | it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Joseph | 13 | | Barschak; and be it further
