| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edward A. Lioen of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on July 14, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lioen was born in Moline to Alfred and Erma | 6 | | Lannoo Lioen on October 26, 1928; he graduated from St. Ambrose | 7 | | Academy and attended St. Ambrose College; he married Joan | 8 | | Lehner in Davenport, Iowa on September 16, 1950 and served in | 9 | | the United States Naval Reserve during the Korean War; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lioen retired in 1992 after over 40 years | 11 | | of service with Deere & Company, where he was Director of | 12 | | Pricing; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lioen was a member of St. Pius X Catholic | 14 | | Church in Rock Island, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, | 15 | | taking communion to various area nursing homes; he was also a | 16 | | member of the Allouez Council 658 Knights of Columbus and a | 17 | | longtime member of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lioen was preceded in death by his parents | 19 | | and his sons, Kevin and David Lioen; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lioen is survived by his wife, Joan; his |

| 1 | | son, Mark Lioen; his daughter and son-in-law, Therese and | 2 | | Jeffery Bloom; his grandchildren, Anna (Kwanza) Morgan, | 3 | | Michael (Stephanie) Lioen, David Bloom, Sarah (Sante) Piracci, | 4 | | and Thomas Bloom; and his great-grandchildren, Anthony and | 5 | | Kalai Lioen, Kieran and Charlize Morgan, and Michael and John | 6 | | Piracci; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Edward A. Lioen, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
