| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Stanley "Stan" Turk of Joliet, who passed | 4 | | away on April 19, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk was born in Rockdale to Frank and Anna | 6 | | (Muren) Turk on March 17, 1926; he attended the Rockdale | 7 | | Elementary School; he graduated from Joliet Catholic High | 8 | | School in June of 1944; he served in the U.S. Navy and was | 9 | | stationed in the Pacific theater until his honorable discharge | 10 | | in 1946; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk worked for the U.S. Postal Service for | 12 | | more than 40 years; before airmail was common, he worked on | 13 | | trains to sort mail and deliver it to cities and towns across | 14 | | many states; he was later transferred to the old Main Post | 15 | | Office in Chicago and then to the Joliet Post Office in 1968, | 16 | | where he worked until his retirement in 1983; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk was a member of numerous service | 18 | | organizations, including the Elks, the Moose, the Will County | 19 | | Old Timers' Baseball Association, and the Joliet Park | 20 | | Foundation; he enjoyed playing euchre several nights each week, | 21 | | supporting his granddaughters in everything they did, and | 22 | | playing a key part in his son Mike's political campaigns; he |

| 1 | | served as an usher at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond; he was a | 2 | | regular blood donor; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk was a truly loving and kind man; he will | 4 | | be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, | 5 | | uncle, cousin, and friend; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes | 7 | | (Moffatt); his parents, Frank and Anna (Muren) Turk; and his | 8 | | seven brothers, Frank (Carm), George (Ange), Joe (Dorothy), | 9 | | Marty (Edna), Wally (Dorothy), Gus (Mary), and Benny (Donna); | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Stan Turk is survived by his sons, Mike (Kathy) | 12 | | Turk and Pat (Laura) Turk; his granddaughters, Katie (Casey) | 13 | | Turk-Nguyen and Maggie (Scott Hansen) Turk; his numerous | 14 | | nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins, | 15 | | including Mariagnes, Jane, Patty and Bob (Mary) Dalton, Therese | 16 | | (Tony) Marino, Mary (John) Jensen, Frank (Linda) Turk, Joe | 17 | | (Pam) Turk, Linda Harvey, Georgene Spears, Kathy Wilhelmi, | 18 | | Cheri (Zbish) Borowiec, Mark (Denise) Turk, Steve Turk, and | 19 | | Rick Turk; his "adopted" son, Luis (Alicia) Leon; Luis' son, | 20 | | Louis; and Luis' daughter, Mariagnes (Greg) Branson; | 21 | | therefore, be it
