AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 132

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 132 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, and Persons with Disabilities Act is amended by adding Section 8k as follows:

(30 ILCS 575/8k new)

Sec. 8k. State agency certification recognition. Notwithstanding any rule or provision of law to the contrary, all State agencies shall recognize and accept the certifications of businesses that have been certified as minority-owned businesses or women-owned businesses by the City of Chicago, Cook County, or other entities approved by the Business Enterprise Council for purposes of participating in the Business Enterprise Program; provided that, the City of Chicago, Cook County, or other entity approved by the Business Enterprise Council have income level certification requirements more restrictive than that required by the Business Enterprise Program under this Act.".
