SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
70 ILCS 1235/20 new

    Amends the Park Commissioners Land Sale Act. Provides that the Rockford Park District may sell all or part of the property containing the former Elliot Golf Course or other property adjacent thereto if: (1) the board of commissioners of the Rockford Park District authorizes the sale and determines by majority vote that the property is no longer necessary, appropriate, or required for the use of, or for the best interests of, the Rockford Park District; and (2) the property or portion of the property is sold for fair market value. Provides that the sale may be performed in a single transaction or multiple independent transactions and to one or more buyers. Repeals the provisions on January 1, 2025. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Park Commissioners Land Sale Act is amended
5by adding Section 20 as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 1235/20 new)
7    Sec. 20. Elliot Golf Course.
8    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the
9Rockford Park District may sell all or part of the property
10containing the former Elliot Golf Course or other property
11adjacent thereto if:
12        (1) the board of commissioners of the Rockford Park
13    District authorizes the sale and determines by majority
14    vote of the commissioners in office at the time of the vote
15    that the property is no longer necessary, appropriate, or
16    required for the use of, or for the best interests of, the
17    Rockford Park District; and
18        (2) the property or any portion of the property is
19    sold for fair market value.
20    (b) The sale may be performed in a single transaction or
21multiple independent transactions and to one or more buyers.
22    (c) This Section is repealed January 1, 2025.

1    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2becoming law.
