2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 1-159.1 as follows:
|
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/1-159.1) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 1-159.1)
|
7 | | Sec. 1-159.1. Person with disabilities. A natural person |
8 | | who, as determined by a licensed physician, by a licensed |
9 | | physician
assistant, or by a licensed advanced practice |
10 | | registered nurse , or by a licensed physical therapist : (1) |
11 | | cannot walk
without the use of, or
assistance from, a brace, |
12 | | cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device,
wheelchair, |
13 | | or other assistive device; (2) is restricted by lung
disease |
14 | | to
such an extent that his or her forced (respiratory) |
15 | | expiratory volume for one
second, when measured by spirometry, |
16 | | is less than one liter, or the arterial
oxygen tension is less |
17 | | than 60 mm/hg on room air at rest; (3) uses
portable
oxygen; |
18 | | (4) has a cardiac condition to the extent that the person's
|
19 | | functional
limitations are classified in severity as Class III |
20 | | or Class IV,
according to standards set by the American Heart |
21 | | Association; (5) is
severely limited in the person's ability |
22 | | to walk due to an arthritic,
neurological, oncological, or |
23 | | orthopedic condition; (6) cannot walk 200 feet without
