    Amends the University Credit and Retail Sales Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning enforcing the Act.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The University Credit and Retail Sales Act is
5amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 115/2)  (from Ch. 144, par. 253)
7    Sec. 2. Enforcement; violations. Whenever the the Attorney
8General of this State has reason to believe that any person or
9retail store operated by a State institution of higher
10learning or operated on property held or leased for the use of
11the institution is using, has used, or is about to use any
12method, act or practice in violation of this Act and that
13proceedings would be in the public interest, he may bring an
14action in the name of the State against any person or retail
15store operated by a State institution of higher learning or
16operated on property held or leased for the use of the
17institution to restrain and prevent any violation of this Act.
18In the enforcement of this Act, the Attorney General may
19accept an assurance of discontinuance of any act or practice
20deemed in violation of this Act from any person or retail store
21operated by a State institution of higher learning or operated
22on property held or leased for the use of the institution
23engaging in, or that has engaged in, that act or practice.

1Failure to perform the terms of any such assurance constitutes
2prima facie proof of a violation of this Act.
