| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the 2021-2022
7th-and-8th | 4 | | grade girls and boys basketball teams of Alexander Graham Bell
| 5 | | Elementary School, who each won their division of CPS Score, | 6 | | the Chicago Public School
district-wide championship; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Coaches Mark Klein of the girls Bell Blaze team | 8 | | and Brett Maher of the boys
Bell Blaze team remain committed to | 9 | | youth athletics and have instilled the values of
hard work and | 10 | | sportsmanship in their players; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Coaches Juan Gonzalez, Tom Pearl, Sean Lee, and | 12 | | Brian Hamilton of the
girl's team and Coaches Greg Finger and | 13 | | Jon Rosenband of the boy's team brought the
love of basketball | 14 | | to every practice, game, and tournament; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, The members of the girls team are Zohra Atmani,

the first CPS title for the boys | 14 | | team in Bell's history; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, The girls team played exemplary defense, | 16 | | understanding that cooperation in
these situations would allow | 17 | | for fast-breaks and opportunities to take chances; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, The boys team focused heavily on zone defense, | 19 | | trapping and rebounding,
and established strong trust among | 20 | | players; therefore, be it
| 21 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |

| 1 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 2 | | we congratulate Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School on the | 3 | | district-wide championships of their 7th-and-8th grade boys | 4 | | and girls basketball teams; and be it further
| 5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this
resolution be | 6 | | presented to Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School to | 7 | | highlight the impactful role
of sportsmanship and athleticism | 8 | | on young people.
