| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Jacob Scott Botterbush of Hardin, who | 4 | | passed away on February 11, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush was born in Alton on April 3, | 6 | | 1987; he earned the rank of Eagle Scout on March 14, 2002; he | 7 | | graduated from Alton High School in 2006; he married Elizabeth | 8 | | Watters on October 16, 2010; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush always worked and sometimes | 10 | | worked multiple jobs to support his family; he had been | 11 | | employed at Cargill Packaging, Pluesters Meat Market, Subway | 12 | | in Hardin, Great Rivers Land Trust, and as a dispatcher at the | 13 | | Calhoun County Sheriff's Department; he taught swimming to | 14 | | many young children at the YWCA and River Aire Swim Club; he | 15 | | also spent many summers as a life guard at local swimming | 16 | | pools; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush enjoyed hunting, fishing, and | 18 | | spending time with his family; he never knew a stranger and | 19 | | always enjoyed talking to anyone; he had a big heart and was | 20 | | always willing to help where he could; he had a multitude of | 21 | | friends and family and loved them all; he will be especially | 22 | | remembered for his smile; and |

| 2 | | maternal grandmother, Margaret (Hopper)
Dunnagan; his paternal | 3 | | grandfather, Wilmer Botterbush; his paternal grandmother, | 4 | | Dorothy (Arms) Botterbush; his uncle, Ray Botterbush; his | 5 | | paternal grandfather-in-law, Albert Watters; his maternal | 6 | | grandfather-in-law, Stephen Tepen; his paternal | 7 | | step-grandfather, Arthur Pence; his infant sister-in-law, | 8 | | Jamie Watters; and his niece, Monroe Klocke; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Botterbush is survived by his wife, | 10 | | Elizabeth; his daughter, Libby; his parents, Tim and Karen | 11 | | Botterbush; his brother, Zachary (Bre) Botterbush; his | 12 | | maternal grandfather, David Dunnagan; his father and | 13 | | mother-in-law, Rick and Becky Watters; his four | 14 | | sisters-in-law, Tracy (Neil) Rose, Casey (Jerry) Klocke, | 15 | | Angela Watters, and Kristy (Brandon) Watters; and his nieces | 16 | | and nephews, Adeline, Keaton, Carter, Cooper, Harper, Sloane, | 17 | | Camden, Kianna, and Reigh; therefore, be it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 20 | | Jacob Scott Botterbush and extend our sincere
condolences to | 21 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
