| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mildred Marie (Volz) Janovetz of Peoria, | 4 | | who passed away on July 26, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on November 9, 1913, the only | 6 | | daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Schweinbold) Bolz; she | 7 | | attended St. Boniface School and graduated as valedictorian of | 8 | | her class at the Academy of Our Lady in 1931, when she was | 9 | | awarded a full college scholarship but was unable to accept | 10 | | because of the Depression; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, She worked in the public sector until her marriage | 12 | | on October 7, 1937, to Eugene Henry Janovetz at St. Boniface | 13 | | Church; she was a lifelong devoted Catholic and a member of | 14 | | Sacred Heart and St. Vincent de Paul parishes in Peoria; she | 15 | | belonged to numerous religious and community organizations; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Along with being a devoted wife and mother, she | 18 | | had many talents, including making quilts, needlepoint, | 19 | | embroidery, knitting, and crocheting items; she was a wonderful | 20 | | cook and her recipes continue in a family cookbook; and

She was preceded in death by her husband; her |

| 1 | | parents; and 2 brothers, Bernard and Harold; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Mildred Janovetz is survived by her children, Judy | 3 | | Davis Morgan (Theodore Welles), Jerry, Jane Menk (Duane, | 4 | | deceased), Joan Janovetz, and Jim (Cindy) Janovetz; her | 5 | | grandchildren, Eric (Janine) Davis, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jacob, | 6 | | Joseph (Katie), Jill and Jared Janovetz, Holly (Jeff) Ott, | 7 | | Jeremy (Sarah) Heer, and Jason (Alycia) Heer; her | 8 | | great-grandchildren, Max and Michal Davis, Breanna Kellogg, | 9 | | Mary Elizabeth, Jay and Christopher Heer, and Louis Janovetz; | 10 | | along with many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 13 | | her family and friends, the passing of Mildred Janovetz; and be | 14 | | it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Mildred Janovetz as a symbol of our | 17 | | sincere sympathy.
