| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Adelaide E. Hughes of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on July 13, 2011;
and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was born on November 10, 1922, in | 6 | | Onida, South Dakota; she was a graduate of Coe College in Cedar | 7 | | Rapids, Iowa; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Prior to her marriage, Adelaide Hughes taught high | 9 | | school biology in Muskegon, Michigan; after her children were | 10 | | grown, she worked in the secretarial field for Jobs, Inc. for | 11 | | many years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was a member of First Presbyterian | 13 | | Church of Waukegan; she had recently been honored as a 60-year | 14 | | member of P.E.O.; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes was preceded in death by her | 16 | | parents, Fredrick and Jean Thompson; her siblings, Sinclair | 17 | | Thompson, Reginald Thompson, Dorothy Duzynski, and David | 18 | | Thompson; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and | 19 | | Luella Hughes; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Adelaide Hughes is survived by her loving husband, |
