| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Edward E. | 4 | | House, who passed away on October 5, 2019 at the age of 82; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed House was born in Monmouth to Dell J. and
| 6 | | Winifred (Gilmore) House on June 18, 1937; he graduated from
| 7 | | Monmouth High School in 1955 and spent the following four years | 8 | | serving an apprenticeship at
the John Deere Works through Black | 9 | | Hawk College; he served eight years with the Illinois National | 10 | | Guard and married Tjodie Hughes at the Little York
Methodist | 11 | | Church on June 7, 1959; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ed House worked as a journeyman machinist | 13 | | repairman for John Deere
and retired in 1994 after 30 years of | 14 | | service; in his younger years, he worked in the Ford
garage in | 15 | | Monmouth and the Warren County garage; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ed House was a member of the First Christian | 17 | | Church in Monmouth and a member
of United Auto Workers Local | 18 | | #434, where he served on the CAP council; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ed House was a proud Democrat; he enjoyed golfing, | 20 | | hunting, traveling,
and spending time with his family and | 21 | | friends; he loved cars and showing his Corvette; he won the |

| 1 | | National Super Chevy Car Show with his 1980 Corvette and, at | 2 | | one time, belonged to the Dragon Coolies Car Club; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Ed House is survived by his wife, Tjodie; his | 4 | | children, Doug House, Brenda Nimrick, and Will House; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Tyler Nimrick,
Thomas House, Ryan Nimrick, Evan | 6 | | House, Alyssa House, Hannah House, Spencer
House, and Anthony | 7 | | House; his great-grandchildren, Kynlee Nimrick, Thomas
House | 8 | | Jr., and Kye Nimrick; and his siblings, John House
and Shirley | 9 | | Flannigan; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 12 | | we
mourn the passing of Edward E. House and extend our | 13 | | sincerest condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew | 14 | | and loved him; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the
family of Ed House as a symbol of our deepest | 17 | | sympathy.
