SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Craig A. Meeske, formerly of East Moline, who passed away on May 15, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Craig Meeske was born in Moline to LaVerne and Marlese (Evans) Meeske on April 3, 1947; he served in the United States Marine Corps; he married Cheryl Ann Knott at First Baptist Church in Silvis on April 6, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Craig Meeske worked as a foreman at Case IH and operated the family farm with his father and sons; and

WHEREAS, Craig Meeske had been active at Wildwood Church since it was constructed; he loved being outside, farming, and spending time with his grandchildren; he also was involved in the community; he served on the Hampton School Board and coached many youth athletic teams; he had a great sense of humor and loved making omelets for the family on Sunday mornings; and

WHEREAS, Craig Meeske was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl, and his brothers-in-law, Greg and Robert Knott; and

WHEREAS, Craig Meeske is survived by his sons, Todd (Amy) and Chad (Sarah) Meeske; his grandchildren, Alex (Malik Thalji), Jake (Abbie), Megan, and Haley Meeske; his siblings, Linda Knott and Larry (Lynne) Meeske; and his brother-in-law, Criss (Sharon) Knott; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Craig A. Meeske and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Craig Meeske as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
