| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate the thirteen teachers in | 4 |
| Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 who earned | 5 |
| national certification through the National Board for | 6 |
| Professional Teaching Standards; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Achieving certification is voluntary and consists | 8 |
| of a performance-based assessment that takes nearly one year to | 9 |
| complete; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Through the assessment process, teachers document | 11 |
| their subject matter knowledge, provide evidence that they know | 12 |
| how to teach subjects to students effectively, and demonstrate | 13 |
| their ability to manage and measure student learning; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The teachers who earned national certification | 15 |
| are Theresa Christensen and Katie Kupka from Palatine High | 16 |
| School; Nicole Clement, Dawn Glaser, Frank Goznikar, Anthony | 17 |
| Miller, Maria Mungai, Kevin Palmer, and Lynn Ridge from Fremd | 18 |
| High School; John Braglia and Bruce Hildabrand from Conant High | 19 |
| School; Aaron Phillips from Schaumburg High School; and Mary | 20 |
| Thomas from Hoffman Estates High School; therefore, be it
