| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gustave L. "Gus" Sims of Milan, who | 4 | | passed away on November 29, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gus Sims was born in Moline to Earl Dean and | 6 | | Margaret E. Anderson Sims on November 16, 1943; he proudly | 7 | | served his country in the U.S. Army and married Patricia E. | 8 | | Hess in Galesburg on May 26, 1971; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Gus Sims worked as a crib tender at Farmall, | 10 | | retiring after 23 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Gus Sims enjoyed spending time with family, | 12 | | following his children and grandchildren's sporting events, | 13 | | motocross and stock car racing, collecting aluminum cans, | 14 | | working with his hands, and repairing small engines; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Gus Sims was preceded in death by his parents and | 16 | | his brothers, Ronald and Raymond Sims; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Gus Sims is survived by his wife, Patricia; his | 18 | | children, Danny W. Sims, Pamela S. Sims, and Travis Sims; his | 19 | | grandchildren, Austin and Gracie Rose Sims; his | 20 | | great-granddaughter, Kadence Sims; his aunt, Mary L. Sims; and |

| 1 | | numerous loving family members and friends; therefore, be it
| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 4 | | Gustave L. "Gus" Sims, and extend our sincere condolences to | 5 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 6 | | further
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 | | presented to the family of Gus Sims as an expression of our | 9 | | deepest sympathy.
