| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George William Clary of Coal Valley, who | 4 | | passed away on December 9, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Clary was born in McCook, Nebraska to | 6 | | Charles H. and Martha H. Clamp Clary on June 13, 1944; he was | 7 | | educated in McCook schools and attended Black Hawk College in | 8 | | Moline and El Paso Community College in Texas; he married | 9 | | Carole Barnett in McCook on June 3, 1963; he later married | 10 | | Diane Robinson Rathjen in Moline on May 26, 1989; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, George Clary served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, | 12 | | retiring on June 30, 1991 and achieving the rank of First | 13 | | Sergeant; he was then employed at the Rock Island Arsenal; he | 14 | | retired on October 31, 2015; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, George Clary loved bowling, going on cruises, and | 16 | | spending time with his family; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, George Clary was preceded in death by his wife, | 18 | | Diane; his parents; his sister, Doris; and his daughter, | 19 | | Kimberly; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, George Clary is survived by his stepson, Kent |

| 1 | | (Carol) Rathjen; his stepdaughter, Kelli (Greg) Whitesides; | 2 | | his grandsons, Damon and Dylan Nimrick; his brother, Delbert | 3 | | (Lillie) Clary; his sisters, Betty Sprenkle, Viola McBride, and | 4 | | Alice Marks; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | George William Clary, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of George Clary as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
