| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William Lundy of Colona, who passed away | 4 | | on January 22, 2017 at the age of 86; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Lundy was born in Colona to Arthur and | 6 | | Edna Dobrinski Lundy on February 3, 1930; he married Hetty | 7 | | Staiger in Ulm, Germany, in January of 1955; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, William Lundy was a veteran of the United States | 9 | | Army; he served in Korea, and retired as a First Sergeant; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, William Lundy was an independent truck driver; he | 11 | | was a lifetime member of Green Rock/Colona American Legion Post | 12 | | 1233, where he was the founder of their honor guard; he also | 13 | | was a member of AMVETS, VFW, 40 & 8, and Green River United | 14 | | Methodist Church; he was the co-founder of the Green Rock | 15 | | Memorial Day Parade; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, William Lundy was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his brother, Arthur, who was killed in action in | 18 | | Korea; and a sister, Ruth Ann; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, William Lundy is survived by his wife, Hetty | 20 | | Lundy; his children, Patricia Kennedy, Angela (Jeffery) |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | William Lundy, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 7 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of William Lundy as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
