| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harold Lee Blasdell of Moline, formerly | 4 | | of Erie, who passed away on July 31, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell was born in Fenton to Charlie and | 6 | | Lillian (Lindsley) Blasdell on June 10, 1938; he served | 7 | | honorably in the United States Navy; he married Sandra K. Smith | 8 | | at St. Catherine's Church in Prophetstown on August 19, 1961; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell worked at John Deere Harvester as | 11 | | a sheet metal worker and retired after 38 years of service; he | 12 | | then worked part time for HyVee in Moline; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell served on the Erie Library Board | 14 | | and was active at St. Ambrose Church in Erie; after moving to | 15 | | Moline, he attended Word of Life Church in Rock Island with his | 16 | | son; he was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the | 17 | | Dodgers; he coached his sons and was dedicated to the Er | | | | | | | | | ie Ball | 18 | | Association; he was social and made friends wherever he went; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell was preceded in death by his wife, | 21 | | Sandra; his parents; and his siblings, Chuck Blasdell and Ellen |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Harold Blasdell is survived by his sons, Curtis | 3 | | (Olivia) Blasdell and Tim Blasdell; his 11 grandchildren; his | 4 | | 17 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Knox, Caroline | 5 | | Hansen, and Grace (Fred) Smathers; and his special friend, | 6 | | Monika Freels; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Harold Lee Blasdell and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
