| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Darcella Leihokualoha "Darcy" (See) | 4 | | Peterson of Peoria, who passed away on December 16, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to | 6 | | Thomas Nainoa Chong See Jr. and Tomiko (Arakaki) See on June 2, | 7 | | 1953; she graduated from Kalani High School in 1971; she | 8 | | earned her Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University | 9 | | of Washington; she married Stephen W. Peterson in Seattle on | 10 | | January 6, 1979; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson devoted her life to raising her | 12 | | children and supporting her entire family; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson volunteered in numerous areas at | 14 | | her church; in recent years, she traveled alongside her | 15 | | husband to several destinations, including Iceland, Egypt, and | 16 | | Peru, and she visited all six permanently inhabited | 17 | | continents; she also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and | 18 | | Hawaii; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson was also known as "Hoku" to her | 20 | | family; she believed in the spirit of aloha that she learned | 21 | | growing up in Hawaii; she will be remembered as a generous, |

| 1 | | hard worker who was always willing to lend a hand; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Darcy Peterson is survived by her husband; her | 3 | | children, Lindy Peterson and Zachary Peterson; her mother; | 4 | | three sisters; a brother; two aunts; an uncle; and numerous | 5 | | nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Darcella Leihokualoha "Darcy" (See) Peterson and extend our | 9 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | 10 | | and loved her; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Darcy Peterson as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
