| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marvin Lowell Johnson of East Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on September 3, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson was born in Moline to Robert and | 6 | | Naoma Yates Johnson on September 13, 1933; he graduated from | 7 | | Rock Island High School in 1951 and served in the United States | 8 | | Navy during the Korean War; he married Donna Olson in Moline on | 9 | | November 17, 1957; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson worked as a carman for the Rock | 11 | | Island Railroad for 24 years; he retired from the Butterworth | 12 | | Center after 19 years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson enjoyed fishing, hunting, | 14 | | gardening, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his | 15 | | family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his sister, Maradelle Ragland; and his brother, Donny | 18 | | Johnson; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson is survived by his wife, Donna; his | 20 | | children, Tim (Donna) Johnson, Ranell (Doug) Dennis, and Tanya |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Marvin Lowell Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to | 7 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Marvin Johnson as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
