| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate David P. Beasley on the | 4 | | occasion of his retirement from the Illinois State Police on | 5 | | November 30, 2013; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, David Beasley began his career with the Illinois | 7 | | State Police on December 15, 1985 when he was appointed to | 8 | | Cadet Class 77; after graduating from the Academy on April 4, | 9 | | 1986, he was assigned to District 4 patrol in the Chicago area; | 10 | | on February 1, 1987, he was transferred to District 10 patrol; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, On June 1, 1997, David Beasley was promoted to the | 13 | | rank of Sergeant and began serving in the Illinois State | 14 | | Police's Operational Service Command's Commercial Motor | 15 | | Vehicle Unit; while in the commercial vehicle unit, he oversaw | 16 | | the Illinois State Police's enforcement effort towards second | 17 | | division vehicles; he also trained cadets in the academy on | 18 | | hazardous materials, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety | 19 | | Regulations, other second division vehicle issues such as | 20 | | vehicle size, weight, load, and permits, and various aspects of | 21 | | the Illinois Vehicle Code; and
| 22 | | WHEREAS, On July 1, 2002, David Beasley was promoted to the |

| 1 | | rank of Master Sergeant; on November 1, 2007, he was promoted | 2 | | to the rank of Lieutenant; on January 1, 2011, he was assigned | 3 | | to the position of Interim District 10 Commander, where he | 4 | | remained until December 16, 2011, when he was promoted to the | 5 | | rank of Captain and was assigned to the position of District 10 | 6 | | Commander; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, After retiring, David Beasley will continue | 8 | | working as the assistant director of public safety and deputy | 9 | | chief of police with Millikin University's newly organized | 10 | | Department of Public Safety; he and his wife, Caroline, will | 11 | | undoubtedly enjoy his retirement years; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 13 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 | | we congratulate David P. Beasley on the occasion of his | 15 | | retirement from the Illinois State Police and wish him | 16 | | continued success and happiness in the future; and be it | 17 | | further
