| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Larry L. Davis of Peoria, who passed away | 4 | | on March 29, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis was born on July 11, 1936, in East | 6 | | Peoria; his parents were Welcome and Elsie Prichett Davis; he | 7 | | married Shirley Carlton, and later married Beverly Fleener on | 8 | | July 5, 1991, in East Peoria; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis was a track and field star at East | 10 | | Peoria Community High School and was a graduate of the | 11 | | Caterpillar Apprenticeship Program; he was employed as a | 12 | | processor in the office for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years until | 13 | | his retirement in 1985; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church | 15 | | in Bartonville; he was also a past president of the East Peoria | 16 | | Jaycees, a member of Timber Lake Club and Elks in Peoria, and a | 17 | | member of Pine Lakes; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, | 19 | | playing kitten ball with the Jaycees, and was proud of making a | 20 | | hole-in-one; he was also a founding member and player of the | 21 | | Tippecanoe Invitational Tournament, held yearly in Indiana; |

| 1 | | and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis was preceded in death by his parents, | 3 | | his 3 brothers; and his sister; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Larry Davis is survived by his wife, Beverly; his | 5 | | children, Connie (Dr. Larry) Nord and Larry (Eden) Davis Jr.; | 6 | | his stepchildren, Kelly Pulfrey and Gregg Chamberlain; his 8 | 7 | | grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, | 8 | | Welcome (Joyce) Davis, Bill (Annabelle) Davis, Jerry (Arlene) | 9 | | Davis, and Joyce Davis; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 12 | | his family and friends, the passing of Larry L. Davis; and be | 13 | | it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Larry Davis as an expression of our | 16 | | sympathy.
