| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George A. Herrmann of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on September 30, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Herrmann was born in Cherokee County, Iowa | 6 | | to Edward and Dr. Laura Herrmann in 1935; he graduated from | 7 | | high school in Davenport, Iowa and served eight years in the | 8 | | United States Army, two years of active duty and six years in | 9 | | the reserve; he married Janice Vinzant in Crawfordsville, Iowa | 10 | | on August 29, 1958; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, George Herrmann worked numerous jobs before | 12 | | becoming a supervisor at Oscar Mayer in Davenport; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, George Herrmann was a dedicated father; he | 14 | | co-founded the Blue Marlins Swim Team and enjoyed traveling, | 15 | | camping, playing cards, and dining out; in retirement, he | 16 | | enjoyed following the sporting events of his grandchildren and | 17 | | great-grandchildren; he loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and | 18 | | followed the Chicago Bulls, Bears, and Cubs; he was thrilled to | 19 | | see his beloved Cubs win the World Series in 2016; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, George Herrmann was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents; his wife, Janice; and his brothers, Dr. Edward and |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, George Herrmann is survived by his children, Susan | 3 | | (Stan) Gustafson, Gary Herrmann, and Laura (John) O'Melia; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Barbi, Christopher, Sean, and Kevin; and his | 5 | | great-grandchildren, Tristan, Taran, Blayklee, and Tameron; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | George A. Herrmann, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
