SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. "Bob" Fornoff of Manito, who passed away on January 27, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fornoff was born to Clarence E. and Bessie (Mahr) Fornoff in Manito on December 28, 1929; he graduated from Manito High School in 1947; he served in the U.S. Air Force on the Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia; he married Bernice Zielinski, and they had three children, Paula, Michael, and Mark; he was the companion of Jean Shelabarger for 26 years until her passing in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fornoff was a lifelong farmer in Mason County, and his family purchased the Meadow Dale Farm from the Bob Mahr Estate in 1961; he grew corn, soybeans, and wheat and raised pigs and black angus cattle in his early years; over the years, he was assisted on the farm by many, including three generations of the Mitchell Family; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fornoff became a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito in 1959; he also served on the Meadow Lawn Cemetery Board for many years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fornoff was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence J. Fornoff; his sister, Wilma Embree; his sons, Michael Fornoff and Mark Fornoff; and his son-in-law, Rick Charlton; and

WHEREAS, Bob Fornoff is survived by his daughter, Paula (Butch Gilroy) Charlton; his six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, Josh (Maggi) Charlton, Grace Charlton, Luke Charlton, Zac (Monica) Charlton, Ayla Charlton, Oakley Charlton, Laikyn Charlton, Beau Charlton, Megan Charlton, Rickey Charlton, Bella Charlton, Elizabeth Charlton, Hilary (David) Vine, Peter Vine, Ryan (Katrina) Fornoff, Jacob Fornoff, Ross Fornoff, David Fornoff, Callan Fornoff, and Jude Fornoff; and his nephews and niece, Ed (Daisy) Embree, Stan (Kathy) Embree, Linda (Ron) Doty, and their families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert E. "Bob" Fornoff and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Fornoff as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
