Amend House Bill 155 on page 1, line 3 2, by replacing "6-16" with "6-16 and adding Section 6-16.1"; 4 and 5 on page 1, line 6, by replacing "6-16" with "6-16 and adding 6 Section 6-16.1"; and 7 on page 1, line 12, by replacing "person. No" with "person , 8 except as provided in Section 16.1."; and 9 on page 1, by deleting lines 13 through 22; and 10 on page 1, line 23, by deleting "or both."; and 11 on page 5, after line 15, by inserting the following: 12 "(235 ILCS 5/6-16.1 new) 13 Sec. 16.1. Enforcement actions. A licensee or an 14 officer, associate, member, representative, agent, or 15 employee of a licensee may sell, give, or deliver alcoholic 16 liquor to a person under the age of 21 years or authorize the 17 sale, gift, or delivery of alcoholic liquor to a person under 18 the age of 21 years pursuant to a plan or action to 19 investigate, patrol, or otherwise conduct a "sting operation" 20 or enforcement action against a person employed by the -2- LRB9000378LDdvam04 1 licensee or on any licensed premises if the licensee or 2 officer, associate, member, representative, agent, or 3 employee of the licensee provides written notice, at least 14 4 days before the "sting operation" or enforcement action, 5 unless governing body of the municipality or county having 6 jurisdiction sets a shorter period by ordinance, to the law 7 enforcement agency having jurisdiction, the local liquor 8 control commissioner, or both. Notice provided under this 9 Section shall be valid for a "sting operation" or enforcement 10 action conducted within 60 days of the provision of that 11 notice, unless the governing body of the municipality or 12 county having jurisdiction sets a shorter period by 13 ordinance.".
