The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act 6 is amended by adding Section 8.6 as follows: 7 (325 ILCS 5/8.6 new) 8 Sec. 8.6. Medical and mental health evaluations. 9 (a) The Department shall develop a collaborative plan to 10 provide and pay for medical and mental health screenings for 11 all children taken into temporary protective custody due to 12 abuse or neglect. The plan shall include how best to use 13 existing resources to pay for these evaluations. 14 (b) The Department shall report the plan it develops to 15 the General Assembly by March 15, 1998. 16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 17 becoming law.
