Amend House Bill 1610 as follows: 3 on page 1, line 12, by replacing "126" with "6"; and 4 on page 1, by replacing lines 14 through 17 with the 5 following: 6 "Protection Act. Each driver of a motor vehicle transporting 7 a child 6 years of age or more, but less than 16 years of 8 age, in the front seat of the motor vehicle shall secure the 9 child in a properly adjusted and fastened seat safety belt."; 10 and 11 on page 2, line 16, after the period, by inserting the 12 following: 13 "However, the fine shall be $25 if the violator pays the fine 14 by mail."; and 15 on page 2, by replacing lines 17 through 20 with the 16 following: 17 "(e) No motor vehicle, or driver or passenger of such 18 vehicle, shall bestopped orsearched by any law enforcement 19 officer solely on the basis of a violation or suspected 20 violation of this Section."; and 21 on page 2, line 23, by deleting "changing Section 4a and"; 22 and -2- LRB9001190NTsbam05 1 on page 2, by deleting lines 24 through 29; and 2 on page 3, line 1, by replacing "12" with "4"; and 3 on page 3, by replacing lines 17 through 21 with the 4 following: 5 "(2) No motor vehicle, or driver or passenger of such 6 vehicle, shall bestopped orsearched by any law enforcement 7 officer solely on the basis of a violation or suspected 8 violation of Section 12-603.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.".
