Requires the chief administrative officer of a school to report to the police the delivery of cannabis and controlled substances occurring in a school, on school grounds, on a public way within 1,000 feet of a school, or on a school conveyance. LRB9004642RCpkA HB2132 Enrolled LRB9004642RCpkA 1 AN ACT in relation to cannabis and controlled substances. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 5 School Reporting of Drug Violations Act. 6 Section 2. Duty of school administrators. It is the 7 duty of the principal of a public elementary or secondary 8 school, or his or her designee, and the chief administrative 9 officer of a private elementary or secondary school or a 10 public or private community college, college, or university, 11 or his or her designee, to report to the municipal police 12 department or office of the county sheriff of the 13 municipality or county where the school is located violations 14 of Section 5.2 of the Cannabis Control Act and violations of 15 Section 401 and subsection (b) of Section 407 of the Illinois 16 Controlled Substances Act occurring in a school, on the real 17 property comprising any school, on a public way within 1,000 18 feet of a school, or in any conveyance owned, leased, or 19 contracted by a school to transport students to or from 20 school or a school related activity within 48 hours of 21 becoming aware of the incident. 22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 23 becoming law.
