Requires the Secretary of State to suspend the driving privileges of a person convicted for wilfully failing or refusing to comply with any lawful order or direction of any school crossing guard invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic. Provides that the person shall also be subject to a mandatory fine. Allows the Secretary to grant the person a restricted driving permit. Provides that the owner of a vehicle alleged to have disobeyed a crossing guard shall, upon demand by a prosecutor, provide a written statement or deposition identifying the operator of the vehicle if the operator was not the owner. Effective immediately. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by 6 changing Section 11-203 as follows: 7 (625 ILCS 5/11-203) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-203) 8 Sec. 11-203. Obedience to police officers. No person 9 shall wilfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order 10 or direction of any police officer, fireman, oruniformed11adultschool crossing guard invested by law with authority to 12 direct, control, or regulate traffic. Any person convicted of 13 violating this Section is guilty of a petty offense and shall 14 be subject to a mandatory fine of $150. 15 (Source: P.A. 84-873.)
