1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2844
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2844, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to the page and line numbers of Senate
4 Amendment #2, on page 3, by replacing lines 9 through 21 with
5 the following:
6 "basis. For the purpose of this Section, the term "weapon"
7 means (1) possession, use, control, or transfer of any object
8 which may be used to cause bodily harm, including but not
9 limited to gun, rifle, shotgun, a weapon as defined by
10 Section 921 of Title 18, United States Code, firearm as
11 defined in Section 1.1 of the Firearm Owners Identification
12 Act, or use of a weapon as defined in Section 24-1 of the
13 Criminal Code, (2) any other object if used or attempted to
14 be used to cause bodily harm, including but not limited to,
15 knives, guns, firearms, rifles, shotguns, brass knuckles, or
16 billy clubs, or (3) "look alikes" of any weapon as defined in
17 this Section. thereof. Such items as baseball bats, pipes,
18 bottles, locks, sticks, pencils, and pens may be considered
19 weapons if used or attempted to be used to cause bodily harm.
