55 ILCS 5/5-1055.5 new
Amends the Counties Code. Allows a county to enter into
an intergovernmental agreement and by that agreement transfer
to a home rule municipality that is located within the county
a share of use and occupation tax receipts generated by the
county. Allows a county to enter into an intergovernmental
agreement and by that agreement receive from a home rule
municipality located in that county a share of use and
occupation tax receipts generated by the home rule
municipality. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Counties Code by adding Section
2 5-1055.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding
6 Section 5-1005.5 as follows:
7 (55 ILCS 5/5-1055.5 new)
8 Sec. 5-1055.5. Sharing use and occupation tax receipts.
9 A county may, but shall not be required to, enter into an
10 intergovernmental agreement and by that agreement transfer to
11 a home rule municipality that is located within the county a
12 share of use and occupation tax receipts generated by the
13 county. A county may, but shall not be required to, enter
14 into an intergovernmental agreement and by that agreement
15 receive from a home rule municipality located in that county
16 a share of use and occupation tax receipts generated by the
17 home rule municipality.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19 becoming law.
