1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3575
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3575 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
5 Section 15-95 as follows:
6 (35 ILCS 200/15-95)
7 Sec. 15-95. Housing authorities. All property of housing
8 authorities created under the Housing Authorities Act is
9 exempt, if the property and improvements are used for low
10 rent housing and related uses. However, property or portions
11 thereof intended or used for stores or other commercial
12 purposes are not exempt. Nothing in this Section herein shall
13 exempt property of housing authorities or any part thereof
14 from special assessments or special taxation for local
15 improvements. Nothing contained in this Section shall be
16 construed as limiting the power of any political subdivision
17 of this State to sell or furnish a housing authority with
18 water, electricity, gas, or other services and facilities
19 under the same basis that those services and facilities are
20 rendered to others under similar circumstances.
