1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 303
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 303, by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Jury Commission Act is amended by
5 changing Section 9.2 as follows:
6 (705 ILCS 310/9.2) (from Ch. 78, par. 32.2)
7 Sec. 9.2. In single county circuits containing or which
8 may hereafter contain more than one million inhabitants,
9 jurors under 65 years of age may be drawn from such parts of
10 the county and assigned to jury service as determined by
11 court rule to be most favorable to an impartial trial and not
12 to incur unnecessary expense or unduly burden the citizens of
13 any part of the county with jury service. Such rule may
14 utilize established divisions within the county. Jurors who
15 are 65 years of age or older, may be drawn from such parts of
16 the county and shall be assigned to jury service at court
17 houses nearest their residence addresses.
