1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 560
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 560, on page 1, by
3 replacing line 2 with the following: "goals for education.";
4 and
5 by replacing lines 6 through 30, all of pages 2 through 6,
6 and lines 1 through 28 on page 7 with the following:
7 "2-3.63a as follows:
8 (105 ILCS 5/2-3.63a new)
9 Sec. 2-3.63a. State education goals. After the
10 effective date of this amendatory Act of 1997 the State Board
11 of Education shall adopt lists of Illinois goals for
12 education and state goals for learning and recommend and
13 submit such lists of goals to the General Assembly. The
14 General Assembly shall review such lists of goals and ratify
15 them in whole or in part with the adoption of a joint
16 resolution. The State Board shall not distribute or base any
17 Board action on any goals that have not been ratified by the
18 General Assembly.".
