House Sponsors: MCGUIRE. Short description: AFDC-HOME VISITS-ELIGIBILITY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Public Aid Code. Requires that AFDC applicants and recipients authorize home visits in connection with determining initial and continuing eligibility for aid. Requires the Department of Human Services, as the successor agency to the Department of Public Aid for the purpose of administering the AFDC program, to establish a program for conducting home visits and using information from other sources. Authorizes the Department to delegate the provision of services to other appropriate agencies. FISCAL NOTE (Dpt. of Public Aid) The total Personal Services and Fringes cost for the additional 518 staff is $19,123.6 for FY'98. Other related lines costs associated with these staff is $3,618.2 for FY'98. Travel reim- bursements for home visits will cost $578.1 for FY'98. Some of the costs to the state would be offset or mitigated by whatever savings accrued due to cancellation as a result of home visits.
