Senate Sponsors: MAHAR Short description: LICENSE OR ID-DIGITAL PICTURE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the Illinois Identification Card Act to define "photograph" as any color photograph or digitally produced and captured image of an applicant and to define "signature" as the name of a person as written by that person and captured in a manner acceptable to the Secretary of State. Amends the Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary may provide that an application for an instruction permit include a photograph. Provides that a school bus driver permit shall be renewable (instead of not renewable). Provides that the Secretary shall designate on a driver's license (instead of on the reverse side), a space where the licensee may indicate that he or she has drafted a living will or durable power of attorney for health care. Provides that the Secretary shall maintain a file on all photographs and signatures and provides that they shall be confidential and shall only be disclosed to certain persons. Provides that it is a violation to knowingly possess without authority a permit-making implement or knowingly possess a stolen permit-making implement.
