Short description: FUNERAL-BURIAL-OUTER CONTAINER Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Funeral or Burial Funds Act to specify that outer burial containers may be included in sales contracts executed under the Illinois Pre-Need Cemetery Sales Act. Establishes when delivery of outer burial containers is deemed to have occurred. Sets forth requirements imposed on warehouse facilities to which sellers deliver outer burial containers. Requires sellers of pre-need contracts to pay $5 for each pre-need contract entered into, to be deposited into the Funeral Consumer Protection Fund for use in providing restitution to consumers who suffer a pecuniary loss arising out of a pre-need contract. Provides for service of process on the Comptroller for actions against a foreign warehouse facility. Amends the Illinois Pre-Need Cemetery Sales Act to include outer burial containers among the cemetery merchandise that may be offered in a pre-need sales contract under the Act. Provides that 85% of proceeds received for the purchase of outer burial containers shall be deposited into one or more trust funds. Effective January 1, 1999.
