For a pupil entering the 9th grade during the 1998-99 or a subsequent school year, increases to 4 years from 3 years (with respect to language arts) and to 3 years from 2 years (with respect to mathematics) the number of years of those subjects the pupil must successfully complete as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.
