Senate Sponsors: HALVORSON. Short description: CONTRACTR CONTRIB-PROHIBIT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Election Code. Prohibits a political committee from accepting a contribution in excess of $500 from any person who has been awarded State contracts in excess of $100,000, who has submitted bids for contracts in excess of $100,000, or has in the aggregate received contracts or submitted bids for contracts in excess of $100,000. Provides that a prohibited contribution must be returned within one business day. Provides that a political committee must notify the State Board of Elections within 2 business days of returned contributions. Provides that a violation is a Class A misdemeanor. Provides that a contributor must be notified that a contribution may be prohibited. Amends the Illinois Purchasing Act, the State Paper Purchasing Act, and the State Printing Contracts Act. Requires each State agency to make a list of persons who have been awarded contracts or submitted bids for contracts in excess of $100,000 available to the State Board of Elections, the Attorney General, or any State's Attorney.
