Senate Sponsors: RAUSCHENBERGER. Short description: PUB AID-MEDICAID-STATE PLAN Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that, on and after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1998, the State plan for medical assistance shall not be modified with regard to eligibility requirements to receive medical assistance, either by increasing the income eligibility level above the minimum required federal guidelines or by expanding the classes of persons covered, unless the proposed modification is approved by joint resolution of the General Assembly, regardless of whether approval by the appropriate federal authority has been granted. Effective immediately.
