1 AN ACT relating to schools.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-28 and 34-21.8 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/10-28 new)
7 Sec. 10-28. Prevention of access to sexually explicit
8 material. Within 6 months after the effective date of this
9 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, each school
10 board shall adopt and implement a policy to prevent students
11 from gaining access to or being exposed to sexually explicit
12 materials.
13 Within 6 months after the effective date of this
14 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, each school
15 board shall file a copy of the policy required under this
16 Section with the State Board of Education.

18 Sec. 34-21.8. Prevention of access to sexually explicit
19 material. Within 6 months after the effective date of this
20 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, the board shall
21 adopt and implement a policy to prevent students from gaining
22 access to or being exposed to sexually explicit materials.
23 Within 6 months after the effective date of this
24 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, the board shall
25 file a copy of the policy required under this Section with
26 the State Board of Education.
27 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
28 becoming law.
